DR CAROLE PEMBERTON

EXECUTIVE COACH, AUTHOR AND RESILIENCE EXPERT

I have worked with individuals and organisations on issues relating to executive and career development for 30 years, in sectors ranging from financial services to universities from high street retailers to pharmaceutical companies, from TV companies, to government departments and global charities. I have worked at every level from graduate entrant to CEO. Prior to establishing my own business, I worked for an international management consultancy and business school. I have been a journalist for the Guardian and also written for women’s glossy magazines. I frequently contribute to radio shows and podcasts on the topic of resilience.

I am an executive coach, developer of coaches, coach supervisor, lecturer and writer. I am also the mother of a 23 year old dealing with the job market of 2020.

I am Visiting Professor in Business Coaching at the University of Ulster, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Institute of Personnel and Development and the Career Development Institute. I am fortunate to be an  Expert Adviser to the Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Foundation: a charity devoted to changing the life chances of disadvantaged young people through sport. I am also currently involved in the Coaching Through COVID programme for NHS frontline workers and in working with people bereaved through COVID.  My doctorate was awarded for research into recovering resilience after setbacks.

I have authored and co-authored a number of career, management and coaching books My most recent book, ‘Resilience: A Practical Guide for Coaches’ was nominated as coaching book of year.
